Perfect location just minutes from the bus and train station, as well as walking distance to the city centre. Brilliant views from the rooftop balcony, with a great atmosphere to boot. Honest staff who will either advise you on DIY tour, or book you a good value guided options. Excellent value

Great location, with shops and fast food nearby, and friendly staff. The breakfast (fixed plate of pita, hard boiled egg, and some cheese) is basic. The showers are fantastic, and the beds fairly comfortable. There is also a small but friendly common room. Would recommend

* No heating (outside temp was 3c) * No hot water, cold water was a treacle * Rooms were dusty, mouldy, stank of cigarettes from nearby rooms, and without windows or ventilation * WiFi doesn't work outside reception * It is NOT near the airport bus, as promised * It is not near meaningful bus, in fact * Breakfast is not included * Staff's constant attempts to aggressively and relentlessly sell you overpriced tours / buses / anything really, is possibly the worst element

Brilliant value for money in the heart of everything. Full 247 ac. Great hot showers. Friendly staff. Quiet despite being in the middle of Khao San. Comfy beds. Lockers in the room. Brilliant

They really do their best to try and keep it clean, and given that £4 to £5 per night is pretty much the cheapest in London (possibly even the whole of northern Europe) it's the best value for money in town. It's also probably the best out of the 4 No 8s

The owners of the hostel seem to have forgotten about the backpackers. The building is now completely neglected, beds and lockers are broken, showers blocked and toilets stink etc. and instead the restaurant and nightclub, which is %100 for snobby locals, gets all the service. And charging €5 on both check in and check out just for luggage storage is outrageous
Thank you for your feedback. We were surprised to read your feedback after knowing that you have stayed with us before, last year around the same time, and you seemed to have not enjoyed our facilities at the time either. Our property has not changed since 2016 and we maintain the same standards. Enjoy the rest of your travels.

Pros Reasonably clean Breakfast buffet (cereals, bread and spreads, juice and tea / coffee) Cons No ac in the rooms, only in the corridor (wth?) Zero atmosphere Appears close, but actually miles from anywhere Terrible showers, without doors Tiny kitchen without any utensils Staff blackmailed us into paying fictitious membership fees or we'll be kicked out Avoid. Airbnb would work out cheaper and more friendly

Pros Very close to the main (east) bus terminal, and the old town Breakfast included (scrambled eggs, tomato, cheese, bread and jam) Showers are hot and powerful Clean Cons It's a tiny flat, so zero personal space Nowhere to chill, the owner and her friends / family sit in the tiny lounge too No luggage storage after check out? Really??

By far, one of the best value for money hostels I've ever seen. Smack on the river, in front of the Royal Palace, the 4 floor climb is rewarded with breathtaking views. Super attentive staff, super comfortable beds, with privacy curtains, plugs and lights, and a fully ACd rooms, make for a perfect stay. Lack of hot showers are the only serious miss, but for $3 per night this is a breath of fresh air.

In theory, this is the cheapest place in London, so you should expect the worst, but there are some pleasant surprises Pros Good water pressure in showers Kitchen is pretty well equipped Staff really do their best (unlike the management) Cons Charges (some randomly made up on a whim) for literally anything Incredibly noisy street Toilets and showers only cleaned once a day, could mean stench for hours on end Mostly occupied by workers, so very little backpacker atmosphere

The place was nice once, what a pity it isn't any longer Showers now have no door, only flimsy curtain The windowless rooms have no ac most of the day The staff seem to be in competition as to who can be less friendly and less helpful The definition of 'youth' hostel is stretched to anyone from crying babies to antisocial middle aged business people Half the bunk beds are wider than usual, so if you reserved together they'll stick you in one bed And a room of 8 suddenly is full of 12 people

Pros; super clean, organised, amazing staff, rooftop bar and cinema, huge beds with privacy curtains etc, location is second to none Cons; no self catering kitchen, free dinner more of an opportunity for staff to push you to buy super expensive drinks and food, cinema wasn't working (seems for a while...) Overall, easily one of the best places we stayed at. If they added a guest kitchen it'll be perfect

Decent location, near a bus stop. Cozy and friendly, but like all Chinese hostels both staff and customers are entirely local, with virtually no English spoken. Comfortable rooms, good common areas, and a quiet but easy vibe

A little bit out of centre, but if you don't mind 15 minutes walk, this is an uneatable value for money. Staff do their best, and the rooms are clean, air conditioned, and tidy. Not much of anything besides the room, except a small 'common area' in the corridor, but is overall excellent value for money

A great hostel in a great location, with super dedicated staff, and fairly decent facilities (breakfast is superb, lack of privacy in the showers less so... Overall great though). Only down point is that the hostel seems to be occupied primarily by Filipino domestic workers from Dubai waiting for their visas, and other such non travellers, so a little lacking in backpackers atmosphere...

The staff has to be the winning attraction of this cute little aparthostel, right in the heart of Tbilisi. The atmosphere, as a result, is also cosy and friendly, and it'll be a perfect place to spend a few days while sorting your life / visa / bike equipment out...

Location is a little grubby, but super close to the old city, and security is excellent. The hostel itself scores nearly perfect in terms of amenities, and the staff do their best. HOWEVER, I did have a massive issue with the fact that they allow anyone to check in, including at least 2 middle aged locals who, in my professional opinion, suffer from severe mental illness and are prone to violence. This is a super serious problem, as I felt extremely vulnerable and in danger throughout the stay

In terms of facilities this hostel is above average, the lounge is great and the only minor issue is the tiny kitchen. However, in terms of atmosphere the place is as exciting as punching your own face; virtually everyone staying there is a foreign worker looking for work, and the feeling of being among 20 middle aged Kazakhi men is not what I was looking for from a youth hostel

The location is perfect; 2 minutes from the Metro, in the heart of the city. Quiet street, and a lift. The facilities are reasonably good; some bedside sockets, powerful showers, all brand new except the mattresses unfortunately. Staff are very kind and friendly. Only massive downside seems to be the clientele; at least while I was there it appeared at times to be a mental asylum, not a youth hostel. I hope that management learns how to screen guests

A decent enough hostel in terms of facilities. What a shame about the staff, one who was completely apathetic, the other one spent the entire weekend having a reception party with his friends until 5 am on Sunday (the extent of their willingness to interact with us was by making a constant stream of lewd and sexist jokes). Never again
Dear friend, thank you for taking time to write your feedback, we appreciate your time. We want to apologize for the way our great staff made you to feel, we are trying to do our best and surprisingly 99% of our guests like us, the other 1% doesn't, and that's perfectly ok with us. We can't make everybody happy, we are not a Nutella jar. Wishing you all the best and safe travels!

A bit of an acquired taste, the place can seem a bit chaotic and crowded at times, but is ran by nothing short of an angel, and that makes things seem a lot better. Lack of security (there's no control on either external or internal gates, nor is there any locker space), but the vibe is great, the bar area is fantastic, and the breakfast is fabulous.

Staff are keen and helpful, which somehow helps to create a relatively good atmosphere, and the garden outside is OK. As for the rest? There seems to be a serious issue with mould, and general hygiene, absolutely everywhere. The beds are adorned with spider webs, and the showers smell. The security in the main building is OK, but the dorms in the building next door are literally open to the streets. And no lockers either. Distance to the centre isn't too short or friendly, but it's doable.

This is what a hostel should be all about; tons of atmosphere, no extra charges for nothing, brilliant staff who understand backpackers, lots and lots of comfortable hang out spaces, and all the rest. Can't say I wouldn't be happier if it was also slightly cleaner, and less run down, but overall I was very happy at the White Tree

A brilliantly designed and run brand new hostel, excellent mattresses, super squeaky clean, and a brilliant tranquil location literally minutes walk from everything. And a brilliant and caring owner manager. It surprisingly contains no self catering facilities (yet!...) but other than that, a sorely needed example of how a hostel should look like

Not actually a hostel, rather an old apartment in a back alleyway, just getting there felt creepy. And once in, you feel like an unwelcomed guest in someone's dirty house most of the time.

In a great location just minutes walk from the train and / stations, and close enough to the city centre. Excellent staff, and a very relaxed atmosphere altogether. One thing to be aware of, this is a Russian style hostel (i.e. An apartment where the 3 bedrooms are used as dorms, the small kitchen as hostel kitchen / reception, and the one shower shared by all), not your typical hostel if you're looking for lots of people, hang out space etc. This one is more on the intimate side :-)

I wish, really wish, that I could recommend the clean, well equipped hostel, the nice staff, the organisation of everything. BUT the hostel is inside a warehouse (literally, inside a warehouse), and the warehouse is inside an industrial zone (yup, forklifts and trucks and all), and the nearest tram is a good 10 minute walk through totally desolated roads. A shame, really. Because otherwise it's a brilliant hostel
The hostel is situated in newly developing office and business area. In our bulding are offices, indoor sports, gym, caffe, entertainment. The tram is 5 or 7min walk depending which tram station one choose. We are brilliant hostel - thanks.

To reach this place, you need a half hour bus from the edge of Venice which only takes you to a place from where you will have to walk another 20 minutes or so, including some isolated tracks and an underpass, none of which felt particularly safe, especially at night. The shuttle, whenever it does work, departs from Tronchetto which is an island near Venice, and to get there costs €3 for a return trip from actual Venice. The rest is irrelevant really. You better off staying in Padova

Yet another gentrified, soulless, honestly pointless hostel. Absolutely zero atmosphere or common spaces (unless you planning on spending all the money you don't have in the hyped on site restaurant, which hosts mostly snobby locals), when will they realise what hostelling is really about? And what on earth are they thinking when they charge you €5 to store bags?? That's €10, or half the price of the entire night stay, just to leave a bag before and after your stay Disgraceful
Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are sorry you didn't feel the hostel had atmosphere. We organise nightly events, have beer pong tournaments, ping pong tables, a night club and cheese and wine tastings. to name a few. Enjoy the rest of your travels

Oh, no! Not another RyanAir Hostel.... A posh looking hostel, until you try to actually use it - towel? €2 (OK that's fair), breakfast? Nah, self catering kitchen? Nope, buy stuff from our expensive in house cafe. Fridge? Microwave? Kettle? Not even that. Leave your luggage somewhere? Haha we'll charge you €5 for that. Some hostels seem to think backpackers are the new dumb tourist, but please - we're budget travelers, stop treating us like cash cows

A real home away from home, with staff being the best feature, followed by almost every amenity you can think of. Very much a hiker's hostel, do not expect a party, and the location (like pretty much everything else in Fairbanks) is not superb, but is matched by the free bikes, which are great. Overall, the hostel carries its owners name with a great pride

Pretty good location, and chilled setting. The hostel, however, seems to feature more street dogs than guests, many of whom have a dog bed, and some who feel free to attack guests without the staff attempting to do anything about it. Shame, because it could have been a nice hostel

Things that you should NEVER accept from a hostel; room that's open to a courtyard (meaning having to put on rain gear if you need toilet in the middle of the night), showers that have only curtain for privacy (meaning if you don't want water to leak on you while drying yourself, you have to do it out in the open), toilet door that cannot close if you sit on them (unless you are a true midget). Attentive staff and secure premises are great, as is decent location, not a substitute

Great staff make up almost the entire positivity of the place. The showers, across a roofless courtyard, appeared to me like a joke in terms of lack of privacy (no actual door, so you are in full view of all in the yard as soon as you step out to dry yourself). Maybe a small issue for exhibitionists, for me it's a reason to never return.

Incredible staff who are doing their best. Location is fantastic if you would like a place close to the bus terminal, less than 3 minutes walk downhill. Brilliant views from the rooftop, but the building overall is not for those afraid of heights. Was not at all impressed with almost all of the indoor common space being used as smoking area (it's difficult as it is to breath in this high altitude, last thing I needed was fumes indoors).

There should be a special place in hell reserved for hostels who mark 'Credit Cards Accepted' on their profile page, only to deny this to your after you arrive late at night with no cash, refusing to even wait until the morning for you to change money
