The River Lodge is situated on the river shore of the 'Aare', opposite the Interlaken-Ost railway station, next to the centre of the village. You will reach the River Lodge in just 8 minutes walking distance from the railway station.
We offer 1 - 4 bed rooms with communal kitchen for use. There are lots of ways to relax in our lounge or in the beautiful garden, which is surrounding the Lodge. We offer 24 hours access for registered guests. We also have a booking desk for outdoor activities and excursions at the reception.
Kayaks and canoe rental, fireplace, washing machine and dryer, playground are just some of the things you will find in our River Lodge.

Don’t make the mistake of booking here. The rooms get so hot, and if you leave your window open to make it cool then insects keep getting into the room. Bathrooms are terrible. Location is very inconvenient, it’s a long and dangerous (at night) walk to anything nearby. No shops within 15 mins walk. Lockers are small. Staff is rude and unhelpful. There’s no hostel social atmosphere, it’s all old people and families.

I hate to leave a bad review but I just wasn’t happy here. I get it, there’s no A/C in Switzerland but the rooms are hot and stuffy when trying to sleep comfortably. The shower water was cold. The kitchen was pretty dirty and there were no utensils or plates/bowls. It’s in a good location and the staff was nice. I’ve just had better experiences for that price.
