This beautifully unique hostel is housed in a traditional orange farmer’s manor and, as such, each room is a little different. Guests can stay in a dormitory as well as private double or twin rooms. Guests will easily appreciate the modern simplicity and comfort at Out of the Blue that also manages to pay respect to the historical architecture.
Besides the indoor community area you can find a magical garden where breakfast and family dinners are served and also relax in the hammocks or in the pool.
Out of the Blue has a perfect location so you can easily reach every point of the São Miguel island. It's far away from the noise and only 3 minutes walk from Ponta Delgada downtown, restaurants, bars, cafes, markets, and the ocean.

Loved my stay at the hostel and even extended it. Friendly staff, tasty breakfast, social atmosphere, great location, and they offer tours to explore different parts of the island. Can totally recommend it!

I would highly recommend staying here. The staff is all amazing, the food is great, the garden is really cool, etc. I was traveling alone but easily made friends at this hostel. I did 4 out of the 5 tours available with the hostel during the week, with Lidia. It was easy, I didn't have to rent a car, I soaked in numerous hot springs, and I saw each side of the island.

Loved the back garden and the breakfast area. The food was amazing, not only tasty but presented artfully. We met some amazing people there - the family breakfast was really great for connecting with other travelers. So peaceful and chill.
