Hostel New Ipanema is located in the heart of Ipanema, one of the safest and most desirable districts of Rio de Janeiro.
Our hostel is in a secure and pretty village which attracts backpackers from all over the world. We are only three blocks from the beach Ipanema and in easy reach of a wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops.
The atmosphere in New Ipanema Hostel is friendly and informal and our helpful staff are dedicated to making your stay in Rio an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Overall definitely good. The one thing that bothered me was they often play loud music in the common area which you can hear into the rooms as well. I've heard it at 10am, I've heard it at midnight. It's not always but it is playing more often than not. I just didn't appreciate coming in from a day of noise to even more noise, and during times when I was trying to fall asleep as well. But again, the rest was good.

One staff member is lovely, helpful and full of advice about things to do. The other is rude and obsessed with barking orders about recycling bins rather than treating his guests with appropriate gratitude.

This is a really great hostel especially for solo travellers, super friendly staff with lots of knowledge about the area and Rio in general and because it’s small a really lovely friendly vibe 100% recommend
