I enjoyed so much my stay here, staff is very helpful and nice EXCEPT for the manager who said hi back to me finally in my third attempt, I couldn’t believe this, I stayed there for about two weeks and never got even a smile back, my friend tried too.
Also the older man who works in the night shift ( not a volunteer) is very grumpy and rude.
If you work with people you need to learn how to be nice. Volunteers made my stay worth it though!

I stayed for 7 nights and enjoyed my stay here. The staff were friendly for the most part. Good location, 15 min away from French Quarter but easily accessible by Street car. Free coffee was my favorite. They have multiple buildings withso many dorms and guests, but it was always clean especially the bathrooms. Not sure how they managed that!
Two negative points would be
1. When the A/c broke and I brought it to their notice, they just brushed it off without even checking. Had to talk to 3 different people and sleep 3 nights in the hot New Orleans dorm shared by 16 before they did anything. It couldn't get any sleep until they moved me.
2. I know it's a hostel and can have all kinds of people but if you dislike d**** this is not a place for you. That made me feel uncomfortable and feel unsafe.

The India house backpackers hostel is a great place for a weekend trip. The outside of the hostel was awesome, with the pool and so man places to sit, relax and drink. We had a great experience there, and the staff was super nice too.
