As the name suggests, Gallery Hostel Porto is a beautiful hostel filled with original art and located in an area surrounded by art galleries. It?s about 10 minutes? walk from the centre. Hostelworld guests have said they?d definitely recommend this hostel, ?especially if you like art and music?. This hostel features a summer terrace and winter garden, very friendly staff and ensuite dorms. We particularly like their delicious nightly Portuguese dinners, which cost around ?10.

Welcome to your home in Porto! The Gallery Hostel, an award-winning boutique hostel nestled in the heart of Porto Art district, is the perfect location to begin your Portuguese adventure. Our unique property, which also serves as an art gallery, is considered by many as one of the best in Porto and the world.
Set in a restored 19th century building, Gallery Hostel provides guests with an authentic Portuguese experience and hospitality. The historic building, while maintaining its original blue tiles, a symbol of Portuguese architecture, was rehabilitated with a contemporary touch and comfort. Located in one of the trendiest quarters of Porto, Gallery Hostel is only a short walk from both the historic centre and Porto nightlife. In addition, one of Porto's most beautiful gardens, the Palacio de Cristal is located within 5 minutes walk, where you can spot peacocks! We are also conveniently situated between Lapa and Trindade metro stations, both a short walking distance.
Our home is the perfect place for travellers to relax after a day of adventure, to forge new friendships, and to enjoy a nice glass of Port wine! Our monthly calendar of events showcases various events happening around the city as well as events hosted at the hostel and at the GH Cafe & Restaurant.
We offer a selection of room categories ranging from 3-bed dorms to standard double/twin rooms, all with in-room shower facilities. Every room is carefully and uniquely designed to ensure the maximum comfort and style. Our dorms feature new custom-designed bunk-beds with built-in plugs, USB port, and individual lights. Each guest staying in a dormitory will be provided with a private locker equipped with a secure digital technology.
At the Gallery Hostel, the team is here to create a unique and memorable Portuguese experience for all our guests. Our friendly and multilingual staff may assist you at all times (24hr reception) with travel planning, dining reservations as well as any other requests our guests may have.

It is lovely and beautiful hostel, but too quite in the winter time

Overall excellent. The staff were exceptional.
Only couple of gripes, no wall hooks in the shower and a phone or intercom in the stairwell to contact the reception (if there is a problem in the room) would be a help, especially on the top floor ( no lift, no problem otherwise).

The nicest hostel I’ve visited!
Staff were SO friendly and helpful. It was super clean and the breakfast was great. I felt so welcome!! Honestly more like a hotel than a hostel. I was even surprised they provided towels and made my bed in the mornings! I’ve never had that in a hostel before. If I’m in Porto again I would absolutely stay here again!

I think what makes is really special is our bar, where guests can enjoy well-chosen beverages; we prepare daily homemade dinners with different themes such as typical Portuguese dishes, variety of tapas and port wine tasting.
We also have our own art gallery with bimonthly-changing exhibitions of Portuguese artists. We're a part of the local community in our wonderful artistic neighbourhood, which brings you closer to the authentic Portuguese culture. Plus our home cinema is muuuch more comfortable than a movie theatre ;)
We welcome guests of all ages who value comfort, friendly service and are interest in different cultural aspects such as good food, wine, art etc.
