This family owned hostel is located in the heart of Georgetown. We are just a few blocks away from Love Lane, Chulia Street Night Market, World UNESCO Heritage area, and multiple bus routes.
Our 1850s heritage building gives you authentic Georgetown charm, while our renovated interior provides modern comforts like waterfall style showers and outlets for every bed.
Our staff is made up of locals and avid travelers who love to help guests figure out what to do in Penang!
The hostel is recommended for travelers between the age of 18 and 40 who like a social place.
Facilities:
• Bed sheet, pillow case, & duvet provided
• Free locker to store valuables
• Hot showers, shower gel, and hair dryers
• Free Wifi in every room
• Free coffee and tea all day
• Common area with TV, books, and table games
• 24hr door access & CCTV security
• Outdoor smoking area
• Check in from 2pm-11pm (late check-in, please contact us before booking)

Had a great stay in this hostel. The volunteers were soo nice and friendly, especially Lara! It was social activites to join most nights. Liked that they didn't all evolve around drinking. This is definitely not a party hostel, but it's still very social and easy to meet people if you want. Also got good areas to just hang out, both indoors and outdoors.

Positives: very sociable hostel (activities every night), really friendly staff, comfy beds, strong air con, each hostel door locks so good security. Amazing location - in the centre of Georgetown with a food market right outside but the noise is not a problem. Free breakfast was good - toast, jam and chocolate spread.
Negatives: the team activities were fun but very male orientated (downing beers, strength related or tallest height related challenges) so it was hard for a group of girls to win (only a mi

Had an amazing time at the House of Journey! The volunteers organized fun activities to see George Town and meet other people. It felt like home :)
