Friends' Hostel has 5 rooms with a total capacity of 22 beds.
There is one double room with front garden view,two triple rooms with private bathroom and castle view,one 8-Bed dormitory room and one 6-bed dormitory room both of them with castle view.
On the first floor there is a common area with garden and view from the castle and city view. Here you can have homemade and traditional dishes cooked from The Grandmother Also from the garden you can enjoy the view which is offered from the mountains and the valley of the city. The Third floor has a terrace where you can also stay and enjoy the landscape.

Pros: very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, good location (though difficult to get to with trolley, as anything in the old town world be).
Cons: kitchen not clean. There was food and dirty dishes left out overnight, and there was a bad smell from that. lounge not conducive to socializing. Heater in the room as well as hair dryer seemed broken.

Lovely hosts and a great location (except for the steep hill up - but nothing you can do about that). Rooms are clean with curtains and lockers (that you can’t easily access and some keys seem to open multiple lockers). The additional cost for breakfast is worth it, it’s a lovely filling breakfast (Albania omelette and pancake, with sides).

Amazing location. From terraces you can see the castle while sipping morning coffee or evening vine. Sockets by my bed was not a fit (seems Albania has two types of sockets), so had to leave my devicies charging in the corridor (risky?). I'd not recommend a breakfast (3euros) - super nice host told me it'd consist of scramble eggs, but it was an omelette (though she's a nice, helpful lady). Anyway: combination of sweetened 'juice' from concentrate (or squash), a sausage, omelette, few tomatoe/cucumber slices, overly sweet jam and weird bread made me sick for next 2 days (but could be also just local water, hard to say what caused it). But thinking particularly of that breakfast, not any other food, was doing vomit reaction. Also some pretentious digital nomads were predominant, which spoiled overall experience. Hosts, the Family, are nice, but they sit and watch TV in main social room, which may make you uncomfortable :) .
